Deer Crossing at Vanvouver Folk Festival 2012!

Sandy setting up

If you went to the 2012 Vancouver Folk Festival July 13 - 15th, you might have seen deer crossing the art farm's interactive booth in the Community Village. We brought the farm to the festival and people were blown away! It seems that the children are the first to be drawn by the magical pull of creation and their parents follow. We brought alders from the farm and stones from the beaches, placing the cut alders in a vertical formation to provide different surfaces to place written inspirational stones onto. Over the weekend hundreds of people walked by and left a message. Many friends from the Sunshine Coast came by to say hello and we made many more friends as well. We are always awe-struck by the collaborative energy generated during a public art display. And to top it all off we got to see an incredible line up of music all weekend, what more could one ask for? A big Thank you goes out to those who came by and contributed their creativity as well as the artfarmers who helped keep the booth humming. Thanks again Amelia, Nadi, Jeremy, Ginny and Laen!
