artists in residence

Currently, as our infrastructure is in the development phase, the art farm welcomes those artists interested in a work-to-stay residency - these artists should be comfortable with getting their hands dirty and living in rougher but cozy accommodations.

These accommodations include a two-room cabin in the woods with composting toilet, shower and wood stove. The cabin sleeps two individuals or couples comfortably. Summer accommodations include four private camp-sites with shared bathroom facilities in the cabin. Kitchen and dining facilities and responsibilties are shared in the main house. Current work space includes a five hundred square foot studio space and an enclosed workshop. Venues are outdoors and site-specific.

deer crossing plans to welcome artists for project-related residencies on the art farm from late Spring to early Fall each year.Fees for residencies, still to be determined, will include room, board and creation/work space. Artists in need of financial assistance will be asked to provide a portion of the fees through other funding sources and a work-exchange program will cover the rest.Fees for artists in residence working on projects to be performed and/or staged on the art farm will be waived.
